Engaging with Greenest City Conversations

PICS Fall 2013 Climate Change Research

Join Dr. John Robinson (UBC) and GRAND PNI Dr. Alissa Antle (SFU) and their research team members including Susanna Haas-Lyons (MA, UBC Social Media channel), David Maggs (UBC Performing Arts channel), and Jean Hebert (SFU Mobile Applications channel) as they share results of the Greenest City Conversations. John Robinson is the Associate Provost, Sustainability at UBC and a professor with UBC’s Institute for Resources, Environment & Sustainability and Department of Geography. Alissa Antle is an Associate Professor in the School of Interactive Arts and Technology at SFU.

Together they carried out the Greenest City Conversations, an innovative, interdisciplinary and wide-scale research project aimed at developing multiple channels for public engagement on municipal sustainability policies. Its two main goals were to facilitate discussion with the public on a variety of sustainability policies, and to provide a comprehensive understanding of the content and impact of different modes of public engagement. Project findings are relevant to numerous academic disciplines and offer both strategies and leading questions for those working in public engagement realms.
